What are the symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis?

Signs and symptoms experienced by people with MS vary considerably and depend on the location of the affected nerve fibers. Symptoms may include:

• Visual disturbances- double vision, blurred vision or partial or complete loss of vision (usually in one eye at a time and often with pain during eye movement)
• Muscle weakness- Numbness or weakness in one or more limbs, which typically occurs on one side of the body at a time or the bottom half of the body
• Sensations such as numbness, prickling, tingling, pain or "pins and needles" in parts of the body
• Muscle stiffness or spasticity
• Partial or complete paralysis
• Electric-shock sensations that occur with certain head movements
• Trouble with coordination and balance, unsteady gait
• Concentration and memory problems
• Extreme fatigue
• Dizziness
• Difficulties with bladder and or bowel function
• Sexual difficulties
